It’s finally springtime! If you like me and love warm days and sunlight, you’re probably excited too. Beyond the beautiful weather and longer daylight hours, refreshing my springtime wellness routine is one of my absolute favorite things about this vibrant season. There’s something so rejuvenating about aligning your self-care practices, no matter which self-care pillar it falls under, with nature’s own renewal.

Just as we declutter our closets and organize our homes when the seasons change, we need to revamp our wellness routines, too. Think of it as your personal spring cleaning—but for your well-being!
These springtime wellness tips will help you shed those winter layers (both literally and figuratively) and embrace the fresh energy of spring.
Keep reading for seven essential spring self-care ideas to completely refresh your wellness routine this season…
1. Refresh your eating habits with seasonal spring food
During winter, we naturally go for hearty comfort foods that keep us warm. But as the spring season comes, our bodies typically crave lighter and fresher options, and seasonal fresh produce makes it so easy to make this transition.
Start your springtime wellness reset by decluttering your fridge and pantry. Discard expired items and consider donating foods that don’t make you feel your best (or have been just sitting there for a long time and might expire soon).
For your next grocery run, prepare a list focused on light, refreshing foods your body naturally craves during spring:
- Spring greens like arugula and spinach
- Fresh berries coming into season
- Hydrating vegetables like cucumber and asparagus
- Citrus fruits for a vitamin C boost
- Fresh herbs like mint and basil to brighten up your meals
Pro tip: Visit your local farmers’ market for the freshest seasonal produce!
2. Include some workouts outside
Winter often puts us in hibernation mode, with most workouts and physical activity happening within our four walls or at the gym. Now that the weather is warmer, it’s the perfect time to refresh your fitness routine by heading outdoors.
You can do things to refresh your fitness routine in spring, like:
- Morning yoga sessions in the park (I personally love Yoga with Adrienne, or to just do what feels good for my body)
- Train running or hiking among flowers
- Cycling through scenic routes
- Outdoor HIIT workouts
- Getting your steps in (my personal favorite). I pair it with a French learning podcast!
Also, as you’re probably sweating more and moving more in the morning, it can be a good idea to invest in some workout gear with breathable fabrics and lighter colors to reflect the season’s energy.
3. Spring clean your self-care rituals
Now is the time for a self-care routine refresher. Look at your skincare practices and ask yourself how each one of them serves you, and if you’re still enjoying them. Remember, just because a particular self-care ritual is trending on social media doesn’t mean it aligns with your personal wellness goals. If not every practice you do aligns with you, it’s time for a switch-up.
Ask yourself:
- Which rituals genuinely leave me feeling restored?
- What practices am I doing out of habit rather than benefit?
- What new self-care activities have I been curious to try?
If there’s something you’ve been wanting to start for some time, a springtime wellness detox is the best time to do it. You can start going to a therapist, having a gratitude journal, or even going on walks. The idea of self-care is unique to every individual. For you, it can be as simple as a 10-minute stretch, for others, they could have a 2-hour self-care routine per day.
Self-care is different for everyone, so basically, just do what feels good for you and only you.
4. A digital detox
Every time my screentime notification pops up on my phone, I get more disappointed than ever because what if I used that time for myself, or worked on a personal project instead of hours and hours of scrolling through social media? It makes me think of all the lost time and potential just because I couldn’t control my social media consumption.
If you’ve noticed that reaching for your phone is your first morning instinct, it might be time for a technology cleanse as part of your spring wellness reset.
If you resonate with me, it’s probably time for you to leave that virtual world and focus more on the real world.
Start by:
- Decluttering your phone—delete unused apps and organize the rest
- Curating your social media feeds to follow only accounts that inspire genuine joy
- Setting up screen time limits for apps that tend to consume your attention
- Creating phone-free zones or hours in your home
- Unsubscribing from newsletters that clutter your inbox without adding value
This spring, challenge yourself to replace some screen time with activities that enhance your wellness routine and are meaningful for you.
5. Spring clean your schedule for a better work-life balance
As someone who constantly battles FOMO (fear of missing out), I understand the challenge of maintaining boundaries around your time. With spring’s arrival comes an increase in social invitations and outdoor activities, which can quickly overwhelm your calendar if you’re not intentional.
This season, I’m committed to facing my FOMO head-on and only accepting invitations that genuinely align with my priorities and energy levels. Part of any healthy wellness routine is learning to say “no” without guilt and “yes” when I truly want to commit.
Your springtime schedule cleanse might include:
- Blocking out non-negotiable self-care time in your calendar
- Setting boundaries around work hours
- Evaluating standing commitments to ensure they still serve you
- Creating space for spontaneous joy and rest
- Prioritizing quality connections over quantity of social events
Remember: Everyone’s idea of fun and fulfillment differs. Maybe your perfect spring evening involves reading quietly with a cup of tea rather than attending a crowded event. Honor your authentic needs when crafting your spring wellness schedule.
And if you’re like me and struggle to have a balance between being productive and having fun, and doing things for yourself, here’s a guide on how to be productive while living a soft life.
6. Revitalise your skincare routine for spring
You’ve probably seen that one coming! Because what’s a new season without switching up your skincare routine? Different weathers call for different products. As someone who has combination skin, I always use extra moisturizing products during winter, and very light ones when it becomes warmer. But, first things first, before introducing new products, clean out your current collection by:
- Discard expired products (check those dates!)
- Pass along items that don’t work for your skin type
- Assess which winter products can be saved for next year
When refreshing your spring skincare routine, remember that gradual changes are best to avoid overwhelming your skin. Focus on these springtime skincare essentials:
- A gentle cleanser to remove pollen, dirt, and increased sweat
I use this one from The Inkey List, it’s the only one where I went through an entire bottle since it does exactly what a cleanser is supposed to do: clean, not dry your face, and gives a very gentle exfoliation.
- Lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer
Ever since I tried Korean skincare, my skin has really changed for the better. This moisturizer from Dr. Althea was very popular on social media, and it’s 100% worth the hype. For someone who breaks out from anything hydrating, this works perfectly. It’s light, non-comedogenic, and has ingredients to repair your skin barrier, too!
- A serum that targets a skin problem that you have
Again with the Korean skincare gems, this Medicube PDRN serum gives me the best glow that doesn’t look oily, and this one from Centella is the only serum that has actually brightened my skin (sometimes I use it on my underarms too). I keep alternating between them!
- Daily SPF protection (non-negotiable in any season!)
Keep your spring skincare simple—your skin (and bank account) will thank you for it.
7. Financial wellness: the often overlooked spring reset
An essential part of any comprehensive wellness routine that rarely gets enough attention is financial self-care. Spring offers the perfect opportunity to reassess your relationship with money and set fresh intentions.
Take time this season to:
- Review your recent spending patterns
- Identify areas where expenses can be reduced
- Set specific financial goals for the remainder of the year
- Create or replenish your emergency fund
- Consider how you might automate savings for retirement
Ask yourself honest questions like “Am I living above my means?” and “Where can I make adjustments to increase my financial peace of mind?” This reflection might reveal spending habits tied to winter (like excessive food delivery or impulse purchases) that you can mindfully adjust as part of your spring wellness reset.
Remember that financial wellness is a crucial component of your overall well-being; reducing money stress creates space for more joy and presence in other areas of your life.
