Let me tell you my story with the corporate life… I have recently stepped into the corporate, and it completely shifted my life. We all hear about people saying how different the ‘work life’ is compared to the student life, but I never imagined that my corporate job would change my life this much.
I have to admit, it felt good stepping into a different phase in life. The major thing that impacted me was the feeling of my life–my time taken away from me. As someone who has a lot of hobbies and loves to do activities throughout the day, having a corporate job felt like my life didn’t belong to me anymore.
Maintaining a work-life balance was never easy. When I’m not working, I’m tired and vice versa. Luckily, I came across this work-life balance tip that is as easy as it gets, and helped a lot with reclaiming my life back.
The Work-Life Harmony Hack
It was when I came across this TikTok video by Trina, a work-life harmony enthusiast. Trina said, “My friend and I came up with this thing called “Saving the Day”, if we spent the whole day working, we do one thing that reclaims the day as our own.”
Trina mentions that her and her friend call each other every day to check out how each of them “saved the day”. It is this fun way of reclaiming you life, and it brings the intention back to your lives.
The concept of “saving the day” is probably not entirely new to you, or me. I have felt the positive impact of doing things that I love doing after the work day, and how it feels like I have not allowed myself to forget about the things I love to do in life because of my corporate job.
I didn’t have a label on this feeling, but now that I came across this video, I love the idea of “Saving the Day”, and especially sharing it with friends. It’s a super fun way to keep track of your work-life balance and make sure you and your friends stay connected.
The things you do the save the day don’t have to require a huge time commitment–it could be something a simple as reading your favorite book before bed, going on a run, taking a long shower, or calling someone close to you.
Here are some ideas of things to do after work to reclaim your life.
Time has always been the most precious thing we have but we only realise this when it’s already too late .
It’s very important that when your time is not totally yours anymore, you start thinking about how to optimise it in order to balance between work and life .
Work in itself will also add to your life experience and helps understand more about life .
One more thing to remember is that once you finish work you take it off your mind so you can enjoy your life
